Cheerleading

The goal of WSJ Storm cheerleading is to teach each young cheerleaders the basic fundamentals of cheerleading and dance along with the concept of performing as a cheer team in an adult supervised environment. Our cheerleaders start at age 5 and go up to age 14. There are no tryouts for our league and every girl or boy gets to cheer. We have a high rate of success with our older cheerleaders trying out and successfully making their High School Cheerleading teams.

Storm coaches spend the first couple of weeks teaching the girls/boys all of the cheer basics that they will need in order to step out on the field and cheer at each of their football teams games and get both the football players and crowd pumped. The girls also spend on fun filled action packed weekend at cheer camp. Our cheer coaches are trained in cheer safety at the beginning of the season. Each of our cheer coaches are committed to teaching cheer in a safe and fun environment that emphasizes on cheer basics, choreography and working together as a team. We also have Jr. coaches (High School Students) that also assist us in coaching.

Storm’s Cheer program has been the PAL Champions for 6 years from our various levels. Our Jr. Midget team has been undefeted. Last season 3 of our teams took home PAL’s first place banner and the other team took home a Gold Medal. Although our Mascots don’t compete for placement, they looked fantastic showing off their cheer moves.  The Storm Cheerleaders were also proud competitors at the 2009 JAMZ Regional Cheer and Dance Competition in San Francisco and also at the 2010 JAMZ National Cheer and Dance Competition in Las Vegas.

Congratulations to our girls this year. We’re really excited about the 2010 season and are looking forward to another fantastic year.  We are registering for the 2010 season now, so come out and cheer with the best in the west, the BLACK, GOLD, and WHITE….GO STORM!!
